Help! Factory Reset Computer, Screen Went Black

I used Windows 8 recovery manager to wipe my computer. I had several viruses so it seemed like the best way.

my screen went Black when the process started and now it won't come back on.

My video card is a different one besides what came with the computer.

I sold the old video card to a friend, so the only graphics I have is the new I bought a while back. It should be an ATI RADEON. 5700 I believe.

I'm guessing the driver got deleted, and with no internet to search for drivers and no vision of the screen I seem screwed.

Are there any ways out of this one?

    Thanks,

    Zach

I should have an HP Envy desktop of some sort with an i5 processor.

When I boot up I can't see the mouse or anything. The only spot on the computer to plug my monitor into is my video card. No extra video spot

I tried putting the graphics card cd in hoping somehow it could do something but my cd drive won't open. I'm assuming I can open it during the boot process but not after the boot

windows has built in vga drivers that will work with any card regardless. plus pre windows loading no drivers are used as its all controlled by the bios.
when you turn the computer on do you get any visuals such as the usual bios splash screen?

also whats your definition of "boot" booting is the completion of checks ect which then leads onto windows loading.
if this doesnt happen its not sucessfully booting.

are you getting any additional beeps well booting? one is normally the most common to suggest all is ok.

if you can see the bios screen and then it goes black its a windows issue. press f8 to boot into safe mode, this uses default drivers ect and will allow you to uninstal/download/find the issue.
if that doesnt work try running start up repair if you have a windows disc.

The only screen I see is the one that says no signal. My definition of booting is turning on the computer.

I have a white dvi cord plugged in. I always had issues with the blue vgi. I'm not sure if it was the cord I had or not. The only way my blue cord ever worked was,if I plugged it into the white cord via adapter

I should say the only way the blue cord worked was plugging it into the dvi adapter, which I would plug into the dvi slot

Is the video card seated all the way down in the slot ?

Is there any power connector on the video card ?

Yes. The video card worked perfectly before I did the restore. and there is no slot in the motherboard. All the computer had was a video card it came with, which I got rid of already.

What do you mean no slot, how do you have the video card connected to the motherboard then ?

Did you replace the video card you got rid of with the same type ? PCI-Express, AGP etc.

What type is the video card you are trying to use now ?

Please tell me the exact make and model of the computer.

I just tried the blue vga cord and it didn't work either. I tried plugging in the blue cord to my div adapter and that didn't work either (it used to). I can't help but think the cord isn't the problem, but I'll probably buy a cord just in case. I could always take it back if I needed to. But again. On the video card the blue vga never has worked. I've always had to use. the white part, either with the cord or with an adapter

So then get a new video card, not a new video cable.

    Please answer the above questions.
