    Used to have a pro 7 back in the day of core 2 quad, and it was one of the best air coolers around.

    Im fairly sure the cooler you have wont fit as its an am2/3 based cooler and your current is an fm2

    it will, just gotta change mounting hooks. and the fan is actually just a cock up by myself, thanks for pointing that out lol.

    Make sure that is is blowing out and not in. With it blowing in and depending on where the case is located, it can and will pull in any hot air coming from the PSU thereby causing things to overheat.

    core temps now loitering at around 60 and cpu socket is 35

    You want only a pea size drop of thermal paste in the center of your die the stock heatsink / fan combo is junk have you considered a 212 evo from cooler master? keeps temps low and are around 35 bucks us dollars
