No windows 7 aero feature?!

I have recently upgraded to windows 7 64bit and do not have the aero feature. Also, a ran a tool that tests if your system is capable of playing blu ray and it said my graphics card was not compatible.

I have the following motherboard which has an Integrated ATI Radeon HD4200:

Asus M4A785D-M PRO 785G Socket AM3 DVI VGA HDMI Out 8 Channel Audio MATX Motherboard - Ebuyer

Do I need a new graphics card? Any suggestions?

Install the driver.

Choose motherboard/integrated drivers for x64.

The HD4200 is quite good and will handle whatever you throw at it.

64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro

Hi Stecally and welcome to the forums...

You will need a card that meets the following requirements in order to use Aero in windows 7...

Minimum Hardware Requirements for running Windows 7 Aero:
# 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
# 1 GB of RAM
# 128 MB graphics card

Aero also requires a DirectX 9 class graphics processor that supports a Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel

Hope this helps..

I tried Googling this but all I found was how to turn on/off Aero completely. I'd like to turn off just the part that makes the boarders around window panes translucent; I think it's called the 'glass' effect.' I've always have had it turned on, but recently it's bugging me as I keep closing...

Having trouble finding a more feature-rich Aero Snap alternative
Do you ever go for years without a specific bit of software, then use it for a few months, and go absolutely freakin' bonkers when it's gone? I had occasion to use a Mac App Store application called BetterSnapTool for quite a while, and found it to be vastly superior to the Aero Snap...
