I noticed that the driver version remains at 2009.
Which is the same version windows7 installs.
All it adds in is the CCC, etc... So no improvement in video performance.
    Just looks more official.

No pink screen, no pink text.
whatever happened for now is gone.
It was like a pink smear and window edges would remain muted on the screen after being closed with odd greens and reds

    updating the thread.
The card completely failed to boot in the PC.
So put in an Nvidia card and PC is working again.

However, I think the PS is getting weak. X1300 takes power direct from PS, Nvidia card does not.
I put the x1300 in a different PC and it boots and works with no problems at all.

I have burned out 5 PS over the last few years. PS for me are always the weakest part of a PC.

I just bought another one for my ASUS P5QC. We have 6 PC's I work on at the house and boat.
For the P5QC started with 400 watts, then went to 500 watts, now latest is 650 watts.
