    Graphics Card Issue

Hopefully someone can help with this issue I am experiencing. I recently had a Powercolor Radeon R9 290 PCS+ OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card fitted (I am register blind and cannot fit hardware myself) but every few days I receive a BSOD (please see enclosed screenshots).

The engineer who fitted the card says it is probably a driver issue but I have the latest version on the PC? I have run PC-Doctor Toolbox through the system and it reports no problems? I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it again.

I hope someone can throw some light on this issue.

    Many thanks for any/all input
    Graham

Hi Graham ... Could be a Driver problem or a faulty Card ... Try the Driver in the Link below ...

Hello again Maxie, it appears there are issues with the card or driver according to the AMD forum and AMD are dragging their heels regarding fixing things.

I have contacted the vendor to request a refund and I'll probably go for a Nvidia card

When exactly does the BSOD occur?
Did the card get installed while the previous drivers for your 5970 where still installed?
Have you tried the newest beta drivers?

Thanks for your best wishes Maxie, I appreciate that.

Erick thanks for your input. To answer your questions :

I'm not sure if the old driver was originally uninstalled prior but, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version now.

Regarding the beta, some users on the AMD forum did this with no improvement.

The BSODs appear infrequently while doing different things. Today though I have had three BSODs which makes me wonder if this is a issue with the card and not a driver problem.

Might be a good idea Graham to get a BSOD analyst to have a look at the logs .. If you can Post them i will ask some one to have a look ..
