Nvidia Graphics Card problem, blue screens and reso changes

Hi, I play CS:GO on the computer pretty often and the computer I use wouldn't necessarily be called a reliable or good computer for that matter. But Recently ( yesterday ) I was playing and then randomly my computer started having screen tears and then it eventually blue screened. I let it do it's thing, but during the reboot, the resolution had been changed ( black bars on top/bottom and both sides ) and there were a bunch of random zig zag lines on the screen. My normal resolution is 1920x1080 and now since the crash yesterday I can't change it any higher than 1280x1024. I've tried updating my drivers and nothing has changed it. A friend told me to try and open Nvidia Control Panel and it says something along the lines of "Nvidia display settings are not available - There is no display currently connected to an Nvidia GPU". I have no idea what that means as I am by no means a computer wiz.

Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280

    Thanks in advance guys.

    Hi, Welcome to Seven forums.

Get DriverSweeper first and the latest available drivers for the GPU. Uninstall the drivers and run the sweeper. This will remove the left overs of the old drivers. After this, install the latest drivers for the GPU now. It will be like fresh install of the drivers.
