Now interestingly enough whilst the last two video driver from AMD failed on the same error, "install already running" which then they killed the catalyst install and just installed RAPTR, the latest video driver from Gigabyte for the DH7790 I have worked. After I reboot we will see if the green tinge is gone! BTW, this has been escalated at AMD but no one has gotten around to getting back to me other than an email to say it has been escalated. Wow, I surely hope I can work that fast when one of my users has a problem, NOT! JFYI!

Did you uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones? Or did you just try to overwrite old files with a driver update?

I did uninstall and used REVO where I could.

I finally did get AMD working. I went back and installed the last video drive from Gigabyte for the HD7790 video card which I have. It finished without errors but a non functioning Catalyst Control Module. I reinstalled Win 7 Pro using an install disk (must have SP1 in it BTW to work), reinstalled the AMD 14.12 driver and now the Catalyst COntrol Module works. THen the magnify function didn't work. Restarted Windows four times and that (magnify works). The primaty problem of a green tinge arounnd and through pictures has not really been resolved. So far I have proved it is not a video card, it is not a motherboard and it is not the video criver at least through 14.12. So as the last Tech at Gigabyte told me last night, it is Windows and I fell he is right. So next is formatting the HD, reinstalling from scratch. That will be next week as I have quite a bit of software to reinstall. Thanks for all thoughts.

Hotfix for those that have the black boarder scaling issue,

AMD Catalyst™ HDMI Scaling Hotfix Software Suite
When connecting some TVs to AMD Radeon graphics through HDMI connector, users may see small black border around the image on the TV, then user can use HDMI scaling slider on Catalyst Control Center to adjust the image.
This AMD Catalyst HDMI Hotfix driver does not downscale the image, therefore, on most HDMI displays image will be displayed in proper size.

Okay it is not the monitor = tried several same results. Got a response from AMD and they didn't read what Was written as I read it - used their software recommended by their analyst to remove pieces and parts of their video driver, used REVO and manually edited the registry to remove any and all reference, inferences, ..., etc. Installed the Gigabyte driver, then AMD's 14.12 and while it said error free, the catalyst control center wouldn't work.

Deleted the partition and formatted the HD (Yeah overkill, I know), and reloaded Windows 7 Pro x64 bit! Reloaded the software, all professional software. You will never guess the problem. I installed a printer profile and wallah, the green meanie's were back! The Window's clock had a green halo around it. Deleted the printer profile and it was gone. Now the company that gave me the printer profile said they had given it out to many people and I was the first one to have a problem.

60 hours of time lost over a printer profile! Wow! Go figure. Thanks to all those who gave comments! Make sure that next year is your best yet!

    - there's a 15.x BETA lurking around at Guru3D
    - I won't post a link, 'cos it's still a bit "experimental"

    - looking good so far, though..
