OK, did you have drivers installed for the card previously? I take it the card's not a recent install, if you could give us a bit of background from before this happened we can work from there.
I basically built my computer around March 2012 and was using it fine. Then I didn't use it for 8 months. I go to get everything booted up and installed and the graphics driver isn't installing. CPU-z showed nothing for the graphics panel. Not sure if that is of help in diagnosing this. Thanks for the continuing help. This forum is very helpful. I just want to get this fixed!

your specs show two machines and we have no way of knowing which you're working on. If both are net/laptops, you should not use drivers from NVidia but use one from your machine's support page.

All of this is for my self-built computer.

Have you tried reseating the cards and sticks remember this has been sitting around doing nothing for ?8 months I would also suggest these
    1.

    SLOTCLEANING

Now as for the slotsto clean them use a strip of old credit card about 1/2 inch wide nip thecorners off one end - preferably round them offhold a piece of thin lint free clothover the end dab on some form of alcohol - iso propyl alcohol (what we swab theskin with before an injection) is good and GENTLYswipe along the slots.

This can also be donefor the GPU slot/s and do not forget to clean the contacts on the cards /sticks either. See my pic for the cleaning stick .
    2.
Run HW Info and see what is showing up in the devices HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download see my pic also for this.

Hey Icit2lol, thanks for the tips. Here's what shows up in my HWinfo.

Apparently the graphics card is being read properly. Doing the physical slot cleaning seems a bit precarious. Is that necessary seeing that HWInfo is picking it up?. I just really want to get the drivers installed.

For cleaning, I would stick the alcohol card in the same way as the GPU slots in, not swiping back and forth, that could bend the contacts.

How would I check to see if it pops up under device manager. I don't see it anywhere under device manager.

Also, why does the gpu pop up under HWInfo but not under gpuz?

Just wanted to say how grateful I am of all the feedback on this thread. I still haven't gotten the drivers for my graphics card to work yet, but thanks for all the help. Sevenforums is a great board.
