    A question about installing RAM

Can you install 8GB DDR3 when your computer already has 4GB DDR2 type ram?... or do I have to remove those 4 gigs to install them.

    Almost certainly no.

DDR2 and DDR3 RAM is physically and electrically incompatible. At one time there were a few motherboards available that could accommodate both in separate sockets but you had to choose which would be used. DDR2 and DDR3 RAM could not be used at the same time.

Using DDR2 and DDR3 RAM at the same is very problematic from a technical standpoint. I doubt any manufacturer even tried.

What is the motherboard Aura as you can get some fairly decent speed DDR2 but it is going to cost mate.

In any case more is better but it depends on what the motherboard, CPU, etc can support.

Read the Link below .. Your Motherboard supports 4 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR2 1066/800/667/533 ECC,Non-ECC Memory
    Dual Channel memory architecture
Due to AMD CPU limitation, DDR2 1066 is supported by AM2+ CPU for one DIMM per channel only. Please refer to ASUS or user manual for Memory QVL
