HDMI Monitor: must unplug and replug after sleep (ATI 4200HD,HP dv-7)

    Hi!

After I put the laptop in sleep and wake it, I must unplug and replug the monitor for it to work.

It's like the HDMI does'nt wake up from sleep and need the replugging to work. As soon it is unplugged/replugged, it immediately works.

I upgraded to the last video drivers, I configured the power saving options to my best knowledge and still does'nt work.

    laptop HP DV-7
    video card ATI 4200HD
    monitor Samsung s27d590

I upgraded to the last video drivers,
Where did you get these? If from AMD, they may not work well because laptop manufacturers are infamous for customizing their hardware to the degree that only they drivers THEY provide work well. You should use the drivers from the laptop manufacturer's website. IF you're already doing that, there may be nothing you can do.

    solved

After hours of trying different things, from updating the drivers, the BIOS, the HDMI cable, I found the solution:

I simply went to Control Panel > Programs and uninstalled all the stuff related to "Catalyst" utils.

Now my HDMI port works great.
