Windows 7: Dual Monitor woes in W7 Media Centre...

Hi torrentg,
Yes I see your point but at the same time that is by no means a reason for MS to neglect to resolve what is clearly a fault. For me as I sit and work I like to place a TV screen on one of my screens so I can usually just listen to the news and then watch it when I hear something that interest me as I work throughout the day. As I said with 4 monitors I have that luxury to be able to do that. With Sky Player, BBC iPlayers, Nero ShowTime, Adobe Media Play and even Windows Media Player allow me to watch full screen flawlessly why can not MS sort out WMC. Having to hit the ALT + TAB changes the refresh rate I think and also means that if I close the program I switched to the cursor jumps back to WMC locked off again.

So really it is a 100% fault and MS having decided that we should pay over the top for the replacement Vista, the OS that made the Crash Test Dummy jump for joy at the amount of work he was getting in this world recession, they have decided that this is a minor error and will let us strew. But not for me and other multi screen users it isn't. We bought our multiple monitors so we can have programs open on all and work in the way the requires a lot less ALT + TABing.

It's not quite like driving a car without a body in a highway renowned for incidents like the Vista car they sold us before. But it is a car without rear bumpers on a street renowned for rear shunt.

Windows Media Center was made for using your computer as a media center. Quit complaining. It's like those who use PowerPoint for a graphics design program who complain about it not being robust enough or not allow CMYK.

You guys are pure babies... good lord buy Cyberlink or something.

Also, MS made Windows 7 for the majority not the minority and I promise you that there are more users who don't have this problem than that do. There will always be some whiner that thinks that the entire OS is messed up because it doesn't work the exact way that they invision it. Live with it or move to Mac or Ubuntu.

Well, Slowrey...you are very much correct on the intended usage of the app and I agree with you. A little less emphasis though, alright? lol

Win 7 WMC Cursor and Settings Issues

I read these posts and understand that it is intended SOLELY as a WMC PC in use, I would SUGGEST though that if there is a work around, it would be GREAT to know about as I have my PC connected via HDMI to my TV and to a 23" Monitor via a monitor cable. It is BECOMING more and more common that people use their PCs more widely, whether a laptop with an external monitor MULTI-TASKING or as it has been described here. It would be also GREAT if the moderator would not try to dictate how the CUSTOMER uses their machine rather understand what IS BEING DONE and make a SUGGESTION to the developers to take this into consideration and either put a setting in to be able to CHANGE cursor behavior or just outright make it possible to act like other programs like, oh I don't know, I.E. or Word, Excel, PowerPoint. I would also SUGGEST possibly to read what somebody is asking and use that as input. Personally the cursor issue bugs the HE** out of me and lack of other in depth controls seem to treat me like an idiot rather then an intelligent consumer. I bought Windows 7 Professional because I don't need the items in Ultimate for home, but I am not a Windows 7 Home Edition User either. Any way, just a few comments, suggestions and feedback.

By the way, if there is a HACK or fix I would be most interested in hearing about it.

The eaiest way around this is to hit the ALT and TAB key as if switching apps and you will release the cursor. However if you use that method normally to switch apps then you will only lock it up again when you try and make the switch back to the next app. You would have to hold the ALT key until the small apps windows appear and then move to the one you want.

Also sometimes when you close an app you may get your cursor locked up again. Not good from MS but there you have it.

I understand how to work the issue, thanks you for your message though. The real point I was trying to make is that a better FIX not work around. I am interested. Fix I mean registry hack, or program fix that actually changes the functionality to work ,in my mind, correctly. The other point is not to put down the users that write in looking for answers and telling them how they should use the program. Right now I have a movie on my TV going thru WMC and typing this. So obviously I do not use this ONLY as a WMC PC

Why wont the media player or the media centre play MP4's?
Is there a good reason why MS don't equip either the media centre or the media player with the ability to play MP4's. I don't see why they can't play them, and surely it would be in MS's best interest if they could play them.
