I know this thread has been quiet for some time, but a google search lead me here.

Go to the compatibility tab on the .exe properties window. Set compatibility to Windows 7. It fixed the problem for me right away. It worked on 0.7.9 and 0.8.0

Version 0.7.9 crashed on mine with lastest AMD drivers...Might be because i used the installer instead of portable launch.

Anyway v0.8.0 seems have fixed bugs and i didn't went into issues with anymore, installer or portable...I'm not using " Set compatibility with".
