Periodic display crashes

Hello,

Over the last couple of months I've experiencing periodic 'black outs' on my monitor where it's as if someone turned my monitor off and on again. Once I'm able to see my desktop again, I see a message on the bottom-right on the taskbar indicating that my nvidia drivers have crashed and restarted (paraphrasing, anyway I can find the records of these reports?) which results in my game crashing when I am playing it.

My system specs are as follows:

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel i5 3750K
ASUS Z778LK-V mobo
1 TB WD Caviar Black
8 GB Ram (I believe this is Corsair Hyper X, is there anyway I can check this without pulling out the sticks?)
ASUS GTX660 2GB
Corsair HX650W PSU

I have downloaded the latest nvidia drivers from the website and have experienced this problem twice within a couple of hours today.

Thank you for the suggestions. The only problem I've had since was the aero interface turning off for a couple minutes. Would this be part of the same problem? If I have any additional occurrences I will reply to this thread.

Also, I've been having problems with my computer freezing with loud buzzing sounds (I don't recall any instance where I've encountered both of these problems consecutively). Do you believe that this could also be a problem of the GPU?
