Hi, I have tried to do as you suggest on the 1st page but I dont understand how do I extract a .inf file from your CL_91526.rar file, when I save it to my desk top it always seems to save as a word pad doc. I also don't quite understand how to copy and past it into the correct place I can find the place its ment to go but if I copy and past it it just puts a .rar word pad file in the \W7_INF folder along with whats already in there.

Sorry to be so dense but my pc skills are not as good as yours.

If anyone has the time to give me an idiots guide on how to I would be very grateful, thank you.

I have a XFX Radeon HD 4650 1GB ram...But i'm running on windows 7 x64 and cant seem to get the inf files you made already for 32bit working on the 64, My device has been recognized as "ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series" but fails to start the actual driver because it "reported problems. (code 43)" I've tried reading along with this thread and have tried several install methods and cannot get it. a little help from someone would be most appreciated.

    Edit: Details

    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9495&SUBSYS_00281682&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9495&SUBSYS_00281682
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9495&CC_030000

    update:
I just tried using "ATI Radeon HD 4650 AGP" = ati2mtag_R7X, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9495 in my inf file and installing, it shows the device installed, but still has the same reported problems error. -- I've found that this is caused by my nforce3 motherboard and dual core amd processor. I'm at a loss to what to do to get this working. Constructive Advise?

Catalyst drivers failed to install on Radeon 4670 AGP

Hi, and thank you for this very interesting topic.
I have just bought an Powercolor HD 4670 and tried to install on a WIN 7 32bits 'vintage' KR7A-raid & Athlon 2200+ PC. This system was before running fine on Win7 with a 3dfx V5500 with custom 3D drivers , but I would test an upgrade for new games and videos.

Psu is a Corsair VX 550 watts. I could install the Win7 VGA generic driver, but even the 'detector' ATI update, the AGP 9.11.32 catalyst, and the AGP hotfix for Win7 failed to install ATI AGP drivers at the same place just after the Win7 colour logo screen. No message, just freeze and loop.

Each time I had to reboot on safe mode, and return to generic VGA driver. I have read your topic, look at the procedure and download your new .inf file CL_91526.
But as I only find a line "Radeon 4650 AGP", I am not sure It works for my 4670 AGP.
As no one post for Radeon 4670 AGP, I would like to know if you could help to fix this problem too.

    Sorry for my poor english.

    Update :
Here is a screen for my hardware.

An other for catalyst interface installed

Update : I am now thinking that it's possible that the previous drivers did'nt uninstall completely and a fresh install of Win 7 (home 32) is necessary.

Previous drivers installed were Sfft 1.5 for a 3Dfx V5500 Agp. These drivers are considered as 'beta drivers' for Win7, so I think some 3dfx files could remain in the system and cause the Ati/amd drivers installation to fail. I will try a fresh install in a couple of days.

At first, I though that my motherboard was too old to support the Radeon HD4670 Agp, but as my Agp slot is an 'universal agp' and the AGP radeon is a 'bridged card', it must be a 'Universal 1.5 volts Agp 3.0' compatible with my motherboard Agp features. In bios I have select the 4x option and check it is activated with the Powerstrip. This software well recognize my Card as an Ati graphic card at 4x.

As the 4670 Agp runs well as an 'generic VGA', I hope that hardware is compatible, runs at 1,5 volts and will not cause hardware failure, 'burning' the motherboard or the Gpu.

After, I though that maybe the Psu don't give sufficient power with the extra 'molex' power connector. The GPU runs at 66 mhz with the 'generic VGA' drivers but have to run at 700 mhz with the Ati HD4670 Agp driver. I though maybe a lack of power cause the Win7 failure when the Ati drivers where loaded. I'm not sure. My Psu is a corsair Vx 550 Watts and must be sufficient.

The HD4670 Agp needs 50 watts, for this reason I have reserved one of the 2 'molex cables' for the Gpu and let free the 4 others connectors on this 'molex cable'. HDD, fans and so on are all connected to the second 'molex' cable to balance the power consumption on the two 'molex cables'.

If it can help, here is the rapport from Powerstrip.

Hi, thank you for this topic,

I have set a fresh installation of Win7 home 32 bits and retry to change the 'generic VGA graffic card' into an ATI driver for my HD4670 AGP but it still did'nt work.

I got the same freeze after rebooting an ATI 'HD4600 series' driver as your 'HD4650 AGP' driver by updating the CL91526.inf file as you explain in page 1.

    I would ask these 2 questions :
Torrentg, would you planned to include the HD4670 AGP settings in a new release of your .inf file ?
Do you think my hardware based on Via KT266A would not be compatible with the GPU ?

As I cannot progress, I would try to run that on Win XP to see if there is an hardware limitation.

Do you have a performance problems ? I mean is your fps low ? The drivers are stable but my fps is low. I know it's a mirracle that i'm running w7 @ ASUS A7N8X-X (nforce2) but i'm not experiencing any problems except of this one :S I'll try to install other drivers in this couple of days and if i fix the problem i'll tell you. But if anyone has fixed it please let me know (:

Instructions for installing ATI HD 2400 PRO AGP, ATI HD 3850 AGP, ATI HD 3650 AGP, ATI HD 3450 AGP, ATI HD 4650 AGP, ATI HD 2600 PRO AGP

    ALL MODELS x86 32-bit WDDM 1.1:

    1) Download the Catalyst 9.11 32-bit driver Suite for Windows 7 from here - Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM - Click on
    ATI Radeon™ Video Card Drivers

    2) Extract the driver folder by running the .exe you downloaded. It will extract to C:\ATI

    3) Close installer after extraction. No longer necessary. Do not continue with install here.

    4) Download my attachment (CL_91526.rar) and extract the .inf file from it. Save to desktop or anywhere you want.

    5) Copy and paste the CL_91526.inf you just extracted directly overwriting the original at this location - C:\ATI\Support\9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_INF

    6) Go to device manager and right click on your video card. (Standard VGA or otherwise.) Update driver software, browse my computer, let me pick, have disk, browse.

    7) Navigate to C:\ATI\Support\9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_INF

    8) Click (or double click) on the CL_91526.inf

    9) Click ok, then click next and let it install. If it complains that it is not signed, click the part to let it install anyway.

    10) Reboot if necessary. Pick an Aero theme by right clicking on desktop, Personalize. (If you previously had a working driver from ATI's site installed, you may skip this step.)

    11) Run setup.exe in C:\ATI\Support\9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\
and let it complete to install the CCC, should you want the functionality. Custom mode is best used here instead of express mode, when it asks.

    12) Install ATI Tray Tools (attsetup.rar in my attachments) if you wish to overclock. Ensure adequate cooling. Disclaimer - Should you choose to overclock, responsibility falls entirely on you.

    13) Update your WEI score. Start menu | right click Computer | Properties | click Windows Experience Index

If you have a different AGP card, let me know. I will make you a custom .inf.
    Enjoy.

could you please make .info for Radeon 4670 AGP? Your help is very much appreciated, I can't get it to run under Windows 7.
