Sorry that this is a Win8 query, but it's very much in keeping with this thread.
If it's in the wrong section, then please move or direct to the right one!

Having a nightmare with trying to get windows to recognise my Sapphire Radeon HD3450.
It's merely saying 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter'

    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C6&SUBSYS_0028174B&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C6&SUBSYS_0028174B
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C6&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C6&CC_0300

If there is some form of fix/mod/anything that could help out, I'd be hugely grateful.

Tried all sorts of uninstalling, re-installing, .inf files, legacy drivers...

    Many thanks

    Steve

    Last AGP I installed v12.6 didn't work XP/Win7!
v12.6 was last build for your version card HD 2000,3000,4000

Try going back a couple of versions. I think 12.4 may have worked

I remember reading a while back that new version of Open CL isn't supported for your card anymore. Read it on Wiki I think - therefore possibly NO AGP Cards with Win 8 or some open cl programming will stop the cards working cos it can't find the 'hook' to interface with?

As for Win 8 installs - forget it, haven't a clue.
I just bought a new Win 7 Ultimate

heh, the highest driver version I ever got to work on Win7 is the 10.7, that I got from here (the "10-7_agp-hotfix_vista_32_dd_ccc"), but it was for a 4670. Other links on that page may be helpful as well.

Instructions for installing ATI HD 2400 PRO AGP, ATI HD 3850 AGP, ATI HD 3650 AGP, ATI HD 3450 AGP, ATI HD 4650 AGP, ATI HD 2600 PRO AGP

    ALL MODELS x86 32-bit WDDM 1.1:

    1) Download the Catalyst 9.11 32-bit driver Suite for Windows 7 from here - Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM - Click on
    ATI Radeon™ Video Card Drivers

    2) Extract the driver folder by running the .exe you downloaded. It will extract to C:\ATI

    3) Close installer after extraction. No longer necessary. Do not continue with install here.

    4) Download my attachment (CL_91526.rar) and extract the .inf file from it. Save to desktop or anywhere you want.

    5) Copy and paste the CL_91526.inf you just extracted directly overwriting the original at this location - C:\ATI\Support\9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_INF

    6) Go to device manager and right click on your video card. (Standard VGA or otherwise.) Update driver software, browse my computer, let me pick, have disk, browse.

    7) Navigate to C:\ATI\Support\9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_INF

    8) Click (or double click) on the CL_91526.inf

    9) Click ok, then click next and let it install. If it complains that it is not signed, click the part to let it install anyway.

    10) Reboot if necessary. Pick an Aero theme by right clicking on desktop, Personalize. (If you previously had a working driver from ATI's site installed, you may skip this step.)

    11) Run setup.exe in C:\ATI\Support\9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\
and let it complete to install the CCC, should you want the functionality. Custom mode is best used here instead of express mode, when it asks.

    12) Install ATI Tray Tools (attsetup.rar in my attachments) if you wish to overclock. Ensure adequate cooling. Disclaimer - Should you choose to overclock, responsibility falls entirely on you.

    13) Update your WEI score. Start menu | right click Computer | Properties | click Windows Experience Index

If you have a different AGP card, let me know. I will make you a custom .inf.
    Enjoy.

I'm currently working on a Windows 7 64bit system and I'd like to add my old x1950 pro agp card if possible. Can you help me?

AMD Catalyst 13.9 Legacy & Asus AH3650 AGP card

I have modified the inf files of the latest AMD Catalyst 13.9 (64bit) Legacy driver to work with my Asus AH3650 (Radeon HD 3650 AGP Silent) card. Seems to run quite well...

Just copy the attached files to your "Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF" folder of your existing AMD Catalyst 13.9 Legacy driver directory, usually "C:\AMD\Support...". Override the existing files, do NOT run the setup installer!!! Install it as user torrentg wrote in his first post of this thread.

After driver is installed, you can run setup installer and install the Control Center and HDMI driver. Note, you have to install the "AMD Media Foundation Decoders" manually by execute the file WMVDecoder64.msi in the WMVDecoder64 directory of "Packages\Apps". Curiously this component seems to be only installed automatically on official supported Radeon HD 3850 AGP cards.

    Update 26.12.2013:
I have noticed meanwhile a strange behavior with my DVB-C TV card (Technotrend C-1500). While all encrypted and most open HD channels are displayed correctly (when decrypted trough the CI Module) , - some open HD (H.264) channels have strong blocky artifacts. Furthermore all SD channels (MPEG-2) stumble every two or three seconds.
With my previous Radeon HD 3850 AGP it worked with this AMD Catalyst 13.9 Legacy driver perfectly. Did I make something wrong when patching the driver? I just copy the cosponsoring stings out of the last original Asus AH3650 inf driver file, - do I need to patch something more?

    Update 27.12.2013:
Problem solved, - it was caused by the Technotrend C-1500 DVB-C TV card. Very strange, probably a fault with the tuner, don't know... However, a Technotrend C-1501 works perfectly.
By the way, nice to know, the AMD Media Foundation Decoders out of the newest regular Catalyst 13.12 seems to be still compatible with DX10 class Radeon HD series!

I can confirm that my inf modification also works for ASUS AH3450 series AGP cards. :) Furthermore, according to the inf file it should work for all other ASUS Radeon HD AGP cards. This includes ASUS Radeon HD 2600, HD 3450, HD 3650 and HD 4650 AGP model lines:

    "ASUS AH3450 Series" = ati2mtag_RV610, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C5&SUBSYS_02521043
    "ASUS AH3450 Series " = ati2mtag_RV610, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C6&SUBSYS_00281043
    "ASUS AH2600 Series" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9587
    "ASUS AH3650 Series" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9596
    "ASUS AH3650 Series " = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9597
    "ASUS AH4650 Series" = ati2mtag_R7X, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9495

I have uploaded modified inf file for 32bit Windows 7 (see my first post). It is untested, - should work. Note, you have to uninstall first ALL old ATI/AMD display driver software! Install it then as described above...

You can download the latest 13.9 legacy driver from here

    AMD Catalyst Display Driver (32bit)

    and x64 users from here

    AMD Catalyst Display Driver (64bit)
