ATI HD3650 AGP drivers problems with Windows 7 32bit

    Hello,
i have same problem than others for installing drivers of a graphic card ATI HD 3650 AGP 1gb in Windows 7 32bit.

(Device manager) From processor SIS to controller AGP
    Properties, Details tab:

    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00000000
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&CC_060400
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&CC_064

There is a solution for this ?
    I have used many driver fron ati/amd sites: 12.1, 13.1, 13.9, 13.12, 9.10, 9.8, 9.11 and so on...

My pc is a very old mainboard ECS Elitegroup P4S5A/DX+ multiboot w2000_wXP (32bit)_w7 (32bit)

The strange is that: for windows 2000 i find some drivers that works very well with the graphic card,
meanwhile Windows XP and Windows 7 have problems...I don't believe...

    Can you help me ?

    Greetings for all...

I have an AGP card X1950 Pro 512MB and I have been trying to make it work on Windows 7 SP1 x86 as well. It works on Windows XP SP3 with Catalyst 9.3 but on WIndows 7 I can't get Catalyst 9.3 working. I managed to find the Catalyst 9.3 Vista Hotfix AGP and I replaced its installer ini manufacturer info with some older ini from previous version and it works for installing or so it says. But Windows 7 refuses to take that driver and insists on using its default WDD driver. It always reverts back to the default Windows 7 driver, it wont let me delete it either. Which means no OPENGL with that driver.

I want OPENGL to work. I tried the only available drivers on AMD for my card which is Catalyst 10.2 but that legacy driver has no OPENGL either. I tried drag and drop the Catalyst 9.3 atioglxx.dll and atiogl.xml files to Windows folder and System32 folder but still no OPENGL. Where do I need I need to put those two files to make OPENGL work?

How can I get OPENGL working under Windows 7?

    Full specs:
    Sony Vaio 430G
    X1950 Pro 512MB AGPx8 Catalyst 10.2
    Corsair 450W
    2GB DDR400
    Windows 7 SP1 x86
    Java 8 40

Anyone have an archive of AGP Hotfix downloads? This is frustrating. I was thinking earlier that maybe I need newer AGP card for Windows 7 so I ordered an HD3650 AGP for $18 but judgiging from above post. That one is tricky too. So I am also curious what Catalyst works on that one.

    Thanks

Get an nvidia agp card the has Windows 7 drivers, there are still some out there, it will tell you right on the box if it`s compatible with Windows 7, scrap the amd card.

Since its old tech people put emotional value on used parts for sell online and its crazy how much they ask for decent AGP cards. In order to get an AGP card that would perform as fast as my X1950 Pro 512MB GDDR3 I would need to buy an 7800GS 512MB GDDR3, but used ones on ebay go for like $150 or more. The next Nvidia 7600GT I seen for $40-80. Which is also crazy. For that much I could buy new mobo and pcie card but problem is then need whole built.

I am still curious if I can get OPENGL to work on my Sapphire X1950 Pro. Card works great for the old games I have and web browsing. So if I could get drivers to make OPENGL work on Windows 7 I would be a happy camper! While it works in Catalyst 9.3 in XP, I really want to use 7 more due to XP having no more updates.

I have same issue of no OPENGL with Catalyst 9.11 legacy. Same issue with Catalyst 9.3 Vista hotfix, the display driver does not update the default Windows WDD 1.0 driver and no opengl works.

I have tried disabling and uninstalling Windows 7 default driver but it keeps coming back.

AGP came out in 1996, in 2004 PCI Express replaced it.

    So roughly 11 years late?

In these cases I'd leave the stable OS on the system in question .

They might make a nice Linux box.

    updating

Using DriverMax software to update drivers of system,
and installing a SiS AGP driver that it find,
now in Device manager don't see more SiS Accelerated Graphic Port with these details

    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00000000
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&CC_060400
    PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_0001&CC_064

now in Device manager i see Graphic card VGA Standard with these details

    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9597&SUBSYS_00281787&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9597&SUBSYS_00281787
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9597&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9597&CC_0300

compatible with the solution give in previous thread for 9.11 hotfix ATI drivers with inf. file modified.

I tried to use the solution but in "normal" don't work, now i try in "compatible mode"...

In the meantime if you have ideas , I am listening ...

    thanks for all...
