DVI Cable don't reconigze offboard vga

Here's my problem. I'm trying to use a DVI cable to use my PC, but the cable don't recognize my offboard VGA. And when I try to update the nvidia driver, it shows an error that there is no compatible hardware.
How do I "make" the cable use my offboard vga and not use the onboard vga ?

Restart you computer then go to your BIOS by pressing DEL (or what ever your BIOS says) then search for "Disable Onboard Graphics" and set it to Enabled (or somwhere similar) then you can go on install your drivers.

Fixed! I tried to disable the Onboard Graphics as RoasterMan said but I didn't have that option, so I went on the device manager and activated the video adapter that I had there and it worked. Thanks!
