    Error 1079

the areo glass on my windows is not working. i ask windows to fix it, but it can't, surprise surprise. anyways, i get this error message when i try to manually start the service ( Desktop Window Manager Session Manager ) that windows said to get running to get aero glass to work:

*Window could not start the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service on Local Computer.

Error 1079: The account specified for the service is different from the account spcified for aother services running in the same process.*

there are no dependencies, and it's set to automatically start.

i just updated my video card drivers. those are legit. i didn't notice when it stopped working.

    please and thanks,

    kyle

Check the event logs for anything related and click the link at bottom on any.

Type "event viewer" without quotations in the start menu search box. Hit enter. Check Windows logs.

Use services.msc to attempt to start the Desktop Window Manager service manually. You could also use that to alter credentials to your own account. Use logon tab. Reboot.

i had already found the event viewer, but i can't make heads or tails of it. i've tried to start the service manually... that's the error i get when i try to do so.

altering the logon to my account name didn't work.

Alright. Two things to try. Here's first:

Type "system information" without quotes into start menu search box, hit enter. In screen that opens, hit file | save or ctrl+s.

Use winrar on saved file and attach the .rar to a post. I want to see your services and if there's anything I can suggest.

After and while you're waiting, try second:

    Open elevated command prompt.

Copy and paste this into it, hit enter.

    sfc /scannow

Also, run full scan with Malwarebytes and updated definitions. You may have malware on the machine.
