ATI drivers causes monitor to lose signal mid install

    Hi all

Anyone come across this? I have a brand new pc, its nice and fast, installed Win7 a month ago and the ATI drivers that were available then.

Now with the lastest update for ATI, my monitor loses signal midway through the install of the new pack and I have to restart my pc to do anything.

I have tried different versions of the drivers, uninstalled my previous drivers and tried to install fresh but no dice.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Are you 100% sure that your card is Windows 7 compatible? Make certain that you are using exactly the right drivers. You might consider posting more details on your system this would help others to help you, Windows 7 Pro as a system spec is rather vague to say the least!

thanks for the reply, my system is as follows

    • AMD Phenom XIII 720 BE processor
    • 6GB DDR2 Ram
    • ATI Radeon 4850 GPU
    • Windows 7 Professional x64 OS

The machine is brand new, theres no issue of compatibility for sure.

    cheers

Losing signal is normal and what it needs to do to install. Be patient when trying again.

I understand what you are are saying and its not working, I have left it alone when the monitor loses its signal and even after 10 mins it doesn't work.

yes, it was working fine before i tried to install. i have installed once before the first time i installed windows and i had no issue.

again i am using the correct cables, using the correct drivers, the installation will just fail and i will have to reboot cos the monitor would lose signal. and the installation did no go through upon reboot.

Use device manager to install the driver. Right click card | update driver software.
