ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4300 Dissapeared

Today I installed a set of Windows updates (21). Took about 15 minutes.
When the laptop restarted it stated that it could not install the driver for the above component.
When I went to "Device Manager" that component was no longer listed, However; a "Unknown" item is listed.
The result of this problem is that the display stops 3/4 of the way across the screen and then starts to repeat itself.
    Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Hi go to acer support and get the video driver from their and install. or you can go to a restore point before the updates then when the updates are ready to install again hide the update for the video card.

    Thanks "Oscer1"
After I posted my thread I did revert to an earlier restore point and that problem has gone away - for now.
Yes, I can see that there is the danger that it will all happen again when I repeat the insertion of the 21 updates. How do I get a list of the 21 separate updates so I can just tick the ones I want? I know that the normal procedure is just to allow installation of the batch, without ever seeing exactly which ones are involved.

    Thanks again "oscer1"
I have read full details of each of the updates. None mention the HD 4300 but 2 of them are graphics related.
I will install the others and check all is well, Then create a restore point. I do not want to exclude the updates containing the possible error causing effects, so I will then install those 2 one at a time, and check that all is well. If all is well then my problems occurred though bad luck. If any one of these does duplicate the problem I had before; I will go back to the last good restore point. Then report the facts to Microesoft. Also hide the offending update.

with laptops i do not like windows update to do any update of the graphics card. lots of time the laptop manufacure will modify the driver for the laptop. your plan of attack sounds good.
