    That happens when you don't edit the .inf correctly. I'd look over the steps and follow the directions carefully.

    The tutorial is clear, well-written and there's nothing confusing at all about it. If you follow along, it's nothing difficult.

    Since you're x64, I don't have the inf handy. So you'll have to edit it yourself by adding the following lines.

    This goes to the section where all the others are under x64, 6.1 -

    %NVIDIA_DEV.0424.01% = Section009, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0424&SUBSYS_9016104D

    This goes to the bottom [strings] section where all the others are.

    NVIDIA_DEV.0424.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT"

    Copy and paste them into the NV_DISP.inf and save. Then install as the tutorial says.

    Hi Torrentg,
    A quick question - I know you are busy helping UclaMac and others - thanks for your patience with us noobies! I have got everything working on my Sony Vaio with Windows 7, except for device manager showing standard pnp monitor. Is there a fix for this? Does it matter, for games and such?

    Thanks
    Ray

    Torrentg,
    Sorry, I meant to say, "Generic PnP Monitor."

    Thanks,
