Trouble seeing and using HDMI TV in Windows

Hello I have the exact same TV and issue as this guy here Problems connecting using westinghouse hd tv monitor I did the devices thing with no luck, the TV is on, plugged in correctly and my computer just won't see it. Now I did plug an Xbox 360 into it, and that worked except there was no sound. I do not need sound, I just want the display to work, any tricks I can do in Windows to help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

PS. Oh and the TV works fine through the old style cables on a DVD player, and the VGA, I just have anew video card and can't use my current adapters

    Some questions:

So you're using the HDMI output on the GTX 1070 to an HDMI connection on the TV?

Have you set the TV to the proper input?

Will the card's HDMI output drive a smaller monitor?

Yes I am using the HDMI, the tv is set to the HDMI channel, and the card should be able to with no problem

HDMI is supposed to deliver Image and Sound Signal to a Monitor or TV.

Does you T.V. have more than one HDMI channel.

    Example:
    HDMI #1
    HDMI #2
