Help setting the right aspect ratio and screen resolution.

Okay I just got my pc built with a nice graphics card and everything, and bam an issue occurs. I seem to have issues with finding the right resolution. I have a decent sized tv, its a bit old its like a mix between a tube and a flat screen weird actually. But anyways I only have two resolutions that work 1176x664 and 1768x992 they both fit the screen fine I would like 1600x900 for the best resolution but heres my issues. The higher the resolution that I go the smaller everything gets making it incredibly hard to read things from about a 8 foot distance, hence my bed. Also the 1600x900 resolution is weird it cuts off of my screen where I am unable to see my start menu. I'd like to be able to have a higher resolution for better picture quality (Also some of my games require a higher resolution.) and then a better aspect ratio so I can see everything from a distance.

I'm sorry if this is a redundant post or a stupid question, I am just kind of stuck I don't know what I could do.

What is the native resolution of the TV ?

TV`s don`t make good PC monitors, I only use mine for movies :)

xIt says it is recommended to be put at but im not sure if that is the native or not and on top of that when I put it on that resolution it cuts off some of the screen sadly :/
