    Extend laptop display ?

    Hi
I am trying to do something but don't have the idea of how to do it.

I have a laptop Core i3 with Intel display at 1366*768 resolution.
I have a desktop LCD 22inch with resolution of 1680*1050.

I am thinking to connect laptop to external LCD as a way it is added with projector to extend the display but there is a problem, it turns on either 800*600 or 1024*768 resolution. I want it to be fully at 1680*1050.

From what is my knowledge, VGA has capability to increase of decrease the resolution and what will be the final resolution, is dependent on the display panel. Right?
So, laptop Intel VGA can go up to 1680*1050 by by-passing the LCD display or either turning it off (for sometime, like for watching a film).

The purpose of doing this is, watching movies on bigger display.

So, is it possible? and if yes, what shall i do?

    PLUS
The specs of the laptop are:

    Haier 7G-5H
    Intel i3 4010U
    RAM 4gb
    VGA intel HD graphics 4400
    Display size: 15.1

About desktop LCD i am not sure about exact model, it is Dell 22inch (21.5) TFT.

Hello awaix mate it does depend on what that graphics chip supports I cannot find much info on it but you could try updating the driver that chip - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/sea...+Graphics+4400

Have you tried adjusting the resolution in the Control Panel see pic
