Nvidia GTX970 aero unsupported error, games stutter frequently

so after a Nvidia driver update, I restarted my PC to find that it would switch to windows basic after 1-2 minutes and I couldn't revert it, I tried re running WEI, uninstalling the drivers completely, basically everything I can find, even Regedit and services.msc. I tried to play games that used to run fine and they now stutter all the time and get a low FPS. rolling back the driver doesn't help and some fixes worked temporarily but needed to be reapplied every startup but now those don't work. Is there anything I'm missing?

Download the latest driver for your card from here and save it to your desktop or other convenient location. Uninstall your GPU through Device Manager then shut the PC down, remove the power card and remove the card from the PC, then reseat the card and reboot.

Install the latest driver you downloaded previously and you should be good to go.

That's the problem... I am using the latest driver, and it doesn't work, but it used to before the latest driver. Rolling back the driver to the last working one still doesn't work and the only temp fix is SFC /scannow in command prompt, but that takes a long time everytime I want to use my PC. It just takes too long to start up my pc, run the command (20 minutes to finish), restart my PC and play. Also, I used to use the uninstall and take out fix, until it stopped fixing my issue..

Do you perform clean installs of your drivers or just pile them up on top of each other? NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems

Somebody had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago and the method I suggested fixed the issue. PC changes to windows Basic 1 minute after turning on, aero forced off

Ok, so now the sfc /scannow fix has stopped working... I have no idea what to do now.

    Reinstall windows :)

Or use an image that I know you created earlier.

Or use system restore to a time before all this started :)
