Hello all, I am new to this so here goes. Have had Win 7 running well the past 6 months (Rc Version), How ever as of Yesterday I have had BSOD over 10 times, Tried running the Repair option. No good, Just back to BSOD again on reboot.Grrr. When I finaly got a restore point up running it says somthing about new hardware. Hmmm,. None new, so I tried to update ATi Cat drivers from 9.7 to 9.9 and my screen is all frizzed out with odd colours. So whent to 9.10, and still the same. Did a restore again and running ok with the old 9.7. But I go to play Borderlands and after 10 minutes... BSOD again. After windows does its check and repair atempt I am on this Vissious Circle of the BSOD over and over again. Would I be better off doing a Fresh Instal of win-7 64bit?? As windows keeps saying there is an error with the O.S.
Many Thanks. Rikko75

Reason: Add minidump
(As windows keeps saying there is an error with the O.S) This is a pretty good indicator. Since you have already tried several different drivers for your card. Posting a screen shot of your event veiwer would also help in diagnosing the problem as well as the mini dump file.C:/windows/minidump in search box put it in a zip or rar file and post it. Thanks and welcome to seven forums. Fabe

Just a small correction, should be C:/windows/minidump
I don't want to be picky, just to make sure Rikko75 got it working.
Type event in the search box, you'll see event viewer right click on it and you'll see a bunch of options, critical, error warning ect. Expand the critical one and snip it. Then post This will tell what critical events have taken place. A Preferred Method of Uploading/Posting Screen Shots I can only get you this far someone else who has a better inderstanding of them will have to take a look.Fabe
It seems as though a service is involved. What you can do it type system information into the start menu search box. When the screen opens, use ctrl+s on it. Winrar or zip the saved file and then attach to a post. I have a good eye for services that can cause this, so I'll have a look.
If you want to start troubleshooting on your own, completely uninstall your antivirus utility from the system.
