When the GWX icon went active several days ago there were a few items related to graphics drivers that were tagged that might cause problems, but it eventually went away once MS autonomously scanned the machine.

I noticed that today on three of the machines which earlier stated that issues would surface and need to be rectified prior to a W10 upgrade.

I would check the GWX interface box periodically to see it comes up clean for the upgrade.

Well, I didn't know that. I have 2 other computers. My mom's 8.1 x64 desktop, and my 7 x64 laptop. Mine says its ready to go. The desktop says the only thing incompatible is my internet suite from my ISP.

I'm not putting too much weight into the GWX background scans because I had all the latest graphics drivers when the GWX interface stated I might have incompatibility issues. I'm thinking it just didn't recognize the drivers initially, or some changes were made when I received three optional updates few days ago that caused a clean compatibility scan.

    Who knows.

MS hasn't exactly been descriptive or transparent enough with these updates, in my opinion.

Well, you were right. I closed out of the GWX app, reopened it, and it had no issues with that driver, except for 1.

What's interesting about this so-called compatibility scan is that it didn't flag my internet security software which, at the moment, doesn't have a beta version that is W10 compatible according to a few Preview users.

    Hi,
It's probably saying in a round about way is you need to uninstall anything windows live essentials related on the laptop,
    Or windows essentials related
That's the item that would produce a windows live display driver as far as I can tell,
    Cheers.

Okay. Thanks, Thrashzone. When I turn it on tomorrow, I will keep that in mind. She doesn't use it often. We all have smartphones. We use them the most often. We use the computers to check our banking accounts, or to pull up things that the phones don't do a good job at doing. All in all, you get what I am saying, don't you?
