I don't quite know why it has worked this time as I have tried this previously as suggested on this forum (may be using I'm using a different driver this time though?) but I now have my 4750 gpu working on Win 7 64!

I was inspired by 'dam89' at the following forum to retry using Mobility Moder to 'mod' a gpu driver (ATI HD 3200 & HD 4570 in laptop not working - Windows 7 Forums)

I downloaded Mobility Moder (http://www.radeon.ru/downloads/modto...otNETSetup.exe) and also the the 'Windows 7 64 Bit Edition - Radeon - Radeon HD 4550 driver' from the ATI site (Graphics Drivers & Software).

I then unistalled all ATI software via control panel and to ensure all evidence of it was gone I ran drive sweeper (Guru3D - Driver Sweeper) to delete any thing left.

After a restart I double clicked on the downloaded driver so it extracted to C:\ATI\Support and cancelled it before it installed.

I then installed and ran Mobility Modder and using 'browse' located the driver folder within C:\ATI\Support\.... I ensured Disable UAC box was ticked and then clicked Modify. This modifed the driver.

Once done I disabled the 3200 gpu via Device Manager and then ran the setup file in the modified driver folder (c:\ATI\Support\[Driver Folder Name]\Setup.exe).

Once this had installed I was prompted to reboot and once restarted I checked device manager and both the 3200 gpu and the 4570 gpu (it shows as ATI MOBILITY RADEON 4530/4570) are running OK (NO 'CODE 10' & NO '!') :)

As with Sebs solution you can then simply switch between gpu's by switching displays (one is on a virtual display and the other is the actual display under screen resolution) or you can disable the 3200 gpu in device manager so the 4570 alone will be in use.

To prove it is working my windows experience index is now 4.1.

Thanks to all for your helpful discussion and information... I hope this fix works for you as well.
Thank you this worked great for anyone who can't get it working, make sure you click custom install, not quick install when installing it. I spent ages looking for a solution and this is the only one that worked :)

    Thank you so much!

Thanks for the info guys. However I've tried both paultan's and seb's methods carefully several times (on my Win7 Home Premium 32-bit OS) and in both cases my 4570 still doesn't work (code 10 error). Pulling out my hair! Any additional info would be great.

By the way I think the problem is that when I try to install any new drivers, Windows says that the best driver is already installed

Is there any way around this? Any help would be appreciated.

    Argh! So close!

After installing the drivers and applications from the acer upgrade disc I have both drivers working with no errors. However I can't seem to switch displays!

After I select to show my desktop only on the other screen, my screen goes blank for a while then returns to the settings screen where it still tells me to click apply to change the settings. If I click it the screen goes blank again and the cycle repeats. Can anyone help me finish with this problem once and for all. So close now!

P.S. If it makes any difference the other display is to the left of my screen rather than the right like in seb's example.

    Hello,

My father bought a acer 7535G laptop with the videocard ati hd 4570, the first two months he was only
able to run at the 3200 series driver, after upgrading from vista 32 to win 7 home premium 32 bit.

First i deinstalled all ati components Found the solution, i updated the bios from 1.07 to version 2.04 for win 7, from the acer site(dutch)
afterwards i downloaded the vga ati 8.652.1 and installed it.

No the cc center is working fine, i see two modes now for the gpu, 3200 serie for powersaving, and the
    4570 for high performance,switching aut.

Its a shame that this took two months, with no to little help from the dutch acer supports center.
Hopefull its helpfull for some, because it is a common problem if i look on the internet.
I saw in this thread also a other solution, but i think this should be the normal way.
    Greetings Stefan

    Hello,

I downloaded the new bios version from acer site, comes with a readme file.
I only unpacked the files and clicked on the bat file, and it runs aut.

The acer helpdesk , you have to be lucky to get the right person, it took me already ten phonecalls, with no results.
The only say to put the os back on vista.

The windows prestatie(dutch) index is improved a lot and everything is working
    ok now on win 7.

    you have the same problem?
