Random Freezing - Suspected Graphics Card Problem

I've been having this problem where my laptop just randomly freezes. I noticed that whenever my laptop freezes it appears to 'overwork' but programs like Windows Media Player still functions (audio still plays). It happens often when I am running processor intensive tasks (or multiple tabs in Chrome). I suspect it has something to do with the graphics card. I sometimes get the "Graphics card stopped responding and has recovered successfully" error.
I'm not to sure what's causing this and I usually have to shut down by holding down the power button. Please advise on potential causes and solutions. Thanks.
    I'm running on a HP Pavilion DV6,
Graphics: Radeon (TM) HD 6770M (switchable to Intel)

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
When you have multiple tabs of Chrome open
Open Task manager and Processes section and take a screen shot when things start getting slow

You show having 4gb of ram Chrome is getting more and more demanding as well as all browsers now days.
