Windows 7 forces NVIDIA GTX570 to use VGASAve driver
Windows 7 failing to recognise and or set up video card GTX570 correctly when booting
I am experiencing difficulties with my new install of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
After booting windows the display adaptor is identified as GTX570 but setting driver to VGAsave,
and ignores the GTX570 drivers which exist on system.
I then enter Windows safe mode where the Device Manager lists the Display Adapter as NVIDIA GeForce GTX570, properties of the display continues to show VGASave.
On advice I uninstall Display adapter. Then restart windows in normal mode which I understand allows windows to detect the GTX570 adapter and install correct drivers.
Device Manager shows a display adapter as NVIDIA GeForce GTX570 with a yellow(!) and automatically begins to install drivers then asking to Restart machine.
As I have previously downloaded from NVIDIA the driver file '355.60-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql.exe' I run this file which extracts and installs the drivers asking for a restart.
Before restarting I check Device Manager to see the Display Adapter is set to NVIDIA GeForce GTX570 with a yellow(!) and that the driver is set to the latest version 355.60 just installed.
I restart the PC, windows splash screen starts and the screen is black! I have been around this loop several times and nothing appears to work!
