    Gtx 980 problems

Hi guys this is my first ever post as I'm completely stomped, basically my graphic card stopped being detected by windows (10) I reckon it's must be a intermittent fault.. 3 days in a row I tried it, in both pci sockets, two power supplys both 650w, disconnecting everything apart from one hard drive and motherboard and graphics card, it's defo not software related because I reinstalled (just to test ) Windows 7/8.1 and 10, as soon a I put my old hd7970 in it worked straight away no problems on all os's, 5 different hdmi leads.. Not to mention my motherboard which I updated the BIOS and it wouldn't even recognise the graphics card, nor would windows device manager but It did straight away with my old hd7970
I've just Rma'd It with scan, they tested it within a day or so but found no problems.. So are now sending it back to me.(at a cost of £30!!). There test bench is very similar to my set up, it powers up and the fans spin, nvidia drivers won't even detect it!! This is my set up
    i7 4790k
    Motherboard z97p latest bios
650w psu gigabyte recommens 600w min
    Windows7-8-10
    120gb solid state (os)
    8gb ram
Anyone else had this problem?? Thanks in advance guys

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
After reinstalling win-7 did it ever work ?

Sounds like the board is defective to me if not
Not sure if you have another card or not to test the pci-e slot ?
I'd forget about win-10 and concentrate on win-7 operation seeing as this is SevenForums

    Hey thanks for your reply...

No it didn't work after installing 7, don't think it's the pci slot either as I tested it with my other card hd7970 and it worked fine?!

Are there any 6 pin power connections on the motherboard itself ?

    Hi,
I messaged someone with a similar gpu as you have possibly he might have a tip to try
As long as you're using both connections I don't have a clue why it would not function
