I highly doubt that a 650W PSU is inadequate. Even so, I have considered the fact that the card may be lowering the voltage too far at idle (which could show the same symptoms as not having a strong enough PSU), and tried increasing the voltage. Didn't help though.

i have 650W psu too, and it really is adequate. with this psu i can put second one too.

    Thanks for ya time.
I am not sure where i can see my onboard videocard..
In bios i can see PCI express config, in there it says
GFX dual slot config is on [AUTO]

If i go to advanged chipset setting i see Northbridge and RS780 config. If i go to RS780 i see
Internal grapich mode is on [UMA]

This is the same as you GFX0-GPP-IGFX-PCI
I dont see any Ati Radeon HD 3200 in bios to disable
Under advanced do you see "Onboard Devices Configuration"? If so, you go to "Primary Display Adapter" and set it to PCIe.
i set under "Internal Graphics" Primary Video Controller to GFX0-GPP-IGFX-PCI and Internal Graphics Mode to "Disabled".

btw funny fact: did you know that you can connect second display to onboard video and use both? week ago i got new 24" and haven't tried that yet: i'm too lazy

I forgot to mention this: I have a 550W running the mobo and drives, and an additional Thermaltake Power Express 650 just for the cards:

Thermaltakeusa » Power Supply » All Power Range » Toughpower Power Express 650W : Toughpower Power Express 650W W0158RU

Also, have you read the power requirements for the 5770?

ATI Radeonâ„¢ HD 5770 System Requirements

I'm just confused how you came to the conclusion that a 650 isn't enough for a single card... Even for CrossFire they only recommend a 600W.

lol you first mentioned the 650W psu and i concluded that Ratta has it :)

i chose my psu very carefully with psu calc so i got much reserve (my specs below).

ok i think this is the problem with your adapter first of all turn the uma off disable it and also your pci is in the wrong order GFX0-GPP-IGFX-PCI <------------- that is not how it is supposed to look PCI is supposed to be the first then IGFX THEN GPP THEN GFXO you have to rearrange the order i think that is where your conflict is mine is set up the way i showed you not the way you have it give it a try maybe this will work for you
Going to try this, let ya know, lets hope

    TYVM

Edit: nope, still the same problem. 0% installation for 1/2 minutes then, No Signal Input, screen goes black..
That cant be the heat in my case i think, its only installing..

Yeah PSU calc recommended is 503W, so 550W + 650W is plenty...

Hi again.. I saw a option in CatalystCC called VPU Recover that says..

VPU Recover allows the ATI display driver to reset the graphics processor
in the event that it stops responding to commands from the display driver.
Using VPU Recover the display driver will, in most cases, be able to reset
the graphics processor without requiring a system restart.

I read some people having trouble gaming with this enabled, they get a error from VPU and then screen go's to No Signal Input.
I am trying to disable this.. Let you know..

EDIT: OMG i was sooo happy, finaly able to install win7. Going to this forum telling it worked and how happy i am, but while typing that NO SIGNAL INPUT!! Need to restart.
So after 5 minutes in Win7 screen go's black and say No Signal Input..
    This is strange!!

EDIT2: Well i open my case putting a extra wind fan next to it, blowing wind in, and now there are no problems. bad cooling.
Any idea from where? CPU or videocard? I think CPU myself.

try a new heat sink and install some new fans that should do the trick but remeber spend a little cash on a good heatsink it will only prove its worth if you invest in a good one then re mod the fans in your case you should be fine and a good dustoff should be in order as well after all these steps im sure you will be fine

I doubt it is the cpu though if the vid card is going out it is over heating maybe you need to get a vga cooler for your card as well not a solution just a suggestion

if cpu is not o/c'ed then no, it's not cpu.
i think it's video card. you should increase air flow in case and then all components will be cooler.

i have one 12cm intake and one 12cm exaust fans. exaust is controlled by SpeedFan.

this is absolute minimum for case with pretty powerful discrete video card.

Well i use this one to cool my CPU Asus Silent Knight II Review - CPU Cooler Reviews - Tech-Reviews Thats not the original one, i ask them to put it in before they send me all the parts(self build pc). All working fine under WinXP.

This one is AMD the original one that came with the CPU, never tryed it, brand new thou http://img.tomshardware.com/de/2006/...ler_am2_3d.jpg
I want to try this one but i cant find the right screws for now LOL.

I just played Just Cause 2 in Win7 for 15 minutes, no problems, but after closing the game it when straigt to no signal input.

I gonna dl everest and check the heat of CPU and vidcard in XP then in Win7

If its the vid card heating up, then why whont it heat up under WinXP after hours of gaming?

Actually, it's interesting that you guys are talking about video card heat being the problem. I just started to test that last night on my own card. Up until last night, every other solution has been failing me. Now, I'm not saying it is for certain a card overheating issue, but last night's results were good.

I have a Corsair Obsidian case with plenty of fans going on. CPU has water cooling, and I haven't even overclocked it yet. I was looking at the hardware log that ATI Tray Tools has been saving for me, and I did notice that the temps for the 5770 were in the mid 70's when the machine would crash. I don't think that's terribly high for a GPU, but nonetheless, I wanted to at least eliminate heat as a possible cause.

I used ATI Tray Tools to lower clock speed to 800Mhz (from 850 default), and left the memory clock as-is. Then I put the fan on manual control and set it to 85%. Temps never went above 61 degrees during gaming, and I didn't have a crash for the 3 or 4 hours I played.

Again, not conclusive results, but I am trying to see if it crashes with this method. If it crashes when the card is at these low temps, I think I can eliminate heat as the culprit. At that point, I'll start testing for possible power supply issues.
