i know........ its a real bummer, my hand is now going to be forced towards ATI...at whatever sky high prices they magic up in their heads

i mean look at this.... a HD5970 in the UK right now is going for £573 , the MSRP is $599 (£353), look at the extortionate mark up as soon as it hits out shores...
This reminds me of when Nvidia had no serious competition. It's a role reversal. The consumer gets a great product, but has to pay through nose to get one.

I bet this will be in the $700-$900 range for us Aussies

As a Nvidia fan, when I found these "old news", I found myself much staggered........

sigh......... as much as i wanna belive NV are doing ok, it seems the reality is slightly different.
It is quite depressing. And what makes matters worse is that Nvidia are keeping quiet about it as well, considering the amount of people who use Geforce and are waiting to hear something.

The stuff with the lap tops is old news IMO. This is absolute FUD at it's worst.

I really hope that's what it looks like if it is ever released.

What I find strange is though, EVGA's next motherboard is 4-way SLI. That either means future drivers will be quad-SLI for single core cards, or GT300s will support quad-SLI for single core cards. Either way, there must be something coming for them to release a 4-way SLI board before 4-way SLI is possible with single core cards.

It's giving me hope that Nvidia aren't as much in the dirt as these sites are making out lol.

Edit: And that card does look different to the one that was faked.

either that, or Nvidia are worried the only way to keep up with these 5 series cards is gonna be to run 4 fermi GPUs... (i hope its not the latter)

they reckon this is the closest they've ever come to domestic supercomputing, i bet they'll fold like beasts.

but im just sitting here PRAYING they dont hand over the gaming market to ATI in the pursuit of science.., not b/c i hate ATI but b/c they need each other to stop themselves from the lure of GREED!!

Well from reading around, Fermi is the name for the supercomputer card, and Geforce will get the Geforce version of it. There's a few places are now saying the DX11 gaming cards will be the first released.

The first real information about Fermi based Tesla cards is out :: TweakTown
NVIDIA outs Fermi-based Tesla cards | Electronista

    They both seem pretty positive.

And for the 4-way SLI, I think it'll be more to just get inline with ATI's 4-way crossfire.
