Black Screen When Running FurMark and Certain Games

Hey guys, I'm starting to have black screen problem for around 2 days now when I'm running certain games and FurMark @ 1080 FHD Preset. I'm using the MSI GTX 970 and I've been using it for about 6 months now. The black screen problem is always followed by an error message sound but I couldn't find out what the error message is since I have to restart my PC after this happens. Aside from the black screen, everything else is running just fine, I can turn off my PC manually using windows button and shut down and the sound is still running. I've updated my graphic card drivers but the problem remains. Any idea what's wrong with it guys?

The graphics card might be overheating. My Radeon does that if I don't run the fan manually at 65%. The automatic fan speed adjustment isn't aggressive enough.

In your case, I would suggest that you look at the video card and make sure that the fans are turning when you're doing a Furmark test. They should be running fast when you do it. Check the fan speed with some monitoring software as you're doing the test. The temperature should go no higher than about 70C, ideally.

Hi, I just tried it and it didn't work
I set the fan speed to 45% in MSI Afterburner but once again, the screen turns black all of the sudden
The GPU temperature was around 55 when it turned off

The highest point would be 51 degree

Is there any way I can retrieve that error message when the screen turned off?
It would definitely help to know the cause of the problem

    You could check Event Viewer.

Go to Administrative Tools in Control Panel and select Event Viewer. When it loads, select Windows Logs, then System. Look for anything marked "Error" or "Warning".

Let us know if you find anything.

Hmm, the only warning that might be related is this "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. Event ID 4101"
