Display adapter now listed as standard vga display

I had to reinstall windows 7 on my acer aspire 5560g laptop, I installed the drivers on the Acer site. I found the legacy updates for my cards and installed them. And I am still having problems.

The monitor is not showing the native resolution of 1366 x 768, it's topping out at 1024 x 768, it's refusing to let me use the built in screen savers. It's supposed to be a duel graphics system and the device manager lists two under the display drivers. Both are listed as standard vga display. One with the little yellow exclamation mark. It's driving me nutty. Can someone help me?

On a side note, the slider for screen brightness has also gone missing, and the fn brightness control doesn't work either.

You are missing the graphics drivers. To save you some time here I gave you a link:

My security software does NOT like that site. And there are warnings all over to avoid it as it's dripping with malware.

Strange...My A/V plugin is on and didn't detect anything. I'll search for another one.

Edit: Just went to Acer's site and found the drivers you need.

Download Drivers and Manuals | Acer Official Site

Just type 5560G on "Search by Product Model"

I installed all of the drivers for it on that page, that was the first thing I tried before I came here Also the Auto detect from AMD Auto detect says I need amd-catalyst-15.7.1-without-dotnet45-win7-64bit. I hit download on that, it says download complete. But nothing changes and if I run the tool again it says the same thing.

Hi everyone. I am so happy with Windows 7 that I have bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L50D-B, but I did not love nothing of the pre-installed win 8 at all, so I formatted the disk and copied onto it the last image I had of Window 7 and all my well functioning programs. The image came from a...

Display HDMI Adapter
Hello, I currently found out that my TV supports 1080p. However, it only works when HDMI is plugged in. And my card only has DVI output. And i was wondering, will the 1080p work with a DVI to HDMI adapter then? Thanks, Alex.
