How to change primary and secondary graphics cards

Alright, I just tried to use SystemRequirementsLab (Can I Run It) to see if I could run a game.

When I used to use it, I had a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 550 Ti, and now I have an ASUS GeForce GTX 960 STRIX OC Edition. It used to say my graphics card was in the 77th percentile. Now, with my much better card, it says I'm in the 34th percentile. I opted to view the advanced results, and I found out why.

Because I have my second monitor plugged into my motherboard, it was for some reason telling me that Intel HD Graphics was what I was gonna be using to run Far Cry.

Anyway, I was wondering if there was a way for me to switch the identities of my two rendering devices. Although my secondary monitor is plugged into the mobo, and not the first, it still thinks it's my primary rendering device.

    Any suggestions?

All your monitors should be plugged into the 960

I know that's one way to do it, but I have it set up that way to ensure maximum power from the card. If I have the other screen plugged into the 960, then it will reduce its performance. Not drastically, but my CPU is bottlenecking it anyway (until I upgrade it), so I don't wanna do much else. I also just don't have e right cables as this new card only has 1 DVI port and I don't wanna go out and buy an HDMI cable.

Then you're still kinda stuck with the problem, aren't you? All your monitor cables should be plugged in to the 960, as AddRAM said.

Roughly six bucks at Princess Auto for a new HDMI cable and your problem is solved.

I don't know what a Princess Auto is, but thanks for your advice. I'll just plug in my other monitor.... Gotta buy a new cable though. :\

    It's simple Matt.
Just buy the needed cable from where ever you buy things like that where you live.
Their is no tricks or magic needed to fix your problem. Just the proper cables plugged into you video card. Problem solved.

They don't have Princess Auto in Ontario? Wow, I thought they were everywhere in Canada. They sell almost everything, like a big hardware store. If you can find one, it's the best place to buy cables of any kind. Good quality and really inexpensive.

Oh, they're in Kingston, but I live in a really rural area and I've never even heard of one. Huh. The world is such a big place.
