    New Monitor issue

Just installed a new HP Monitor, Model # 27vx IPS. I now have a pixel line along bottom of screen. It looks like the top of he task bar when it's hidden. In certain games it also appears on the right side of screen.
I tried updating driver and its still there. I even did a fresh install of window 7 and it didn't fix the issue.
I'm thinking I might need a new graphics card. My current card is a ATI Radeon HD 4200. Any suggestions ?????

It looks like you have the wrong screen resolution. According to you System Specs you are using 1600x900. Most of the latest monitors use 1920x1080.

Right Click on the Desktop & select Resolution & there you will see Resolution which you can change. Check it out & get back if you have any problems.

Have a look at this Youtube video. Towards the end of it the guy talks about what looks like your problem with the wide border on the screen & he mentions how he overcame it. You might need to repeat that part a few times as I found it a bit difficult to follow, it seemed to refer to the frequency so you might check how to change that on either the monitor or your graphics program.

I changed resolution and refresh rates and line was still there. I just ordered a new graphics card with HDMI output so I hope that cure the problem. Wanted it anyways as this monitor has HDMI input. Thanks for your help !

I suspect that when I installed the software that came with new monitor that I corrupted a file somewhere. Because I switched back to my old monitor and now the line appears there now too. I've since uninstalled that software, did a fresh windows install, driver update, and still have the same problem. grrrrrrrrrrrr

Have a look in Device Manager & see if you have any Yellow Flashes anywhere. If so checkout which one it is see if it's a driver problem.

It's possible that your old graphics card has failed, after the new HP software was installed.

You may as well wait until the new graphics card arrives & go from there.

I narrowed it down to the DVI input. I was able to adjust the settings for VGA in Catalyst Control settings and eliminate the lines on my TV. Theres no way to adjust DVI settings so I still have it on my pc via the DVI input. I can live with that for now. Thanks again for your help
