Windows 7: Driver for 9500GT stops responding for a few seconds?

Yeah, I think I will double check that, and then do a ramcheck, although I wonder if I'm chasing my own tail now. Question though, how do you know those drivers aren't in use? I notice that one is for my EMU 0404 and one is for a logitech device, but how do we know they aren't being used at all? I could just not have had them turned on at the time, correct? (EMU is externally turned on, and I only use it when I need sound, and the webcam stays off most of the time as well). Thanks!

ALso can't get a screenshot (I mean, I guess I could) but I was browsing around to Advanced TOols and Performance Info and Tools, and there is one warning saying nvlddmkm.sys (Same one that came up on a bluescreen) is causing windows to resume slowly. I downgraded to an nvidia 185.xx at some point today, just to start working backwards through all of them. Time taken: 8 seconds.. so not sure what that means in the grand scheme of things.

Did you say you can't do ANYTHING at all graphical? When I had my troubles I could play Wacraft in Windowed mode for up to 30minutes or something without an issue, but never full screen. I had to make sure I had Vertycal Sync enables though as if the frame rate went too high the game would just crash and the same old error would happen.

So all I'm saying is, for now.. until there is a definite fix for it, just try messing around with your settings of things. Don't let the card do too much so to speak. At least you can use it for a little while then ^^

Ok, some small things you may have already done. Have you tried uninstalling the drivers and then using driver sweeper to clean them out in safe mode? Try this and then reinstall the drivers.

Second, I have this card and am using it right now (I have the same error as you with my new 5770 and after trying a bunch of stuff I RMA'd it and am going to see if something was wrong with it. And lo and behold, with my 9500 back in system is stable) with the 190.62 drivers. I have had zero stability issues with it and the card can work for long periods of time at around 65 C. I am not using the newer ones because I heard they were having some issues.

I wonder what is causing these drivers to stop responding, I am totally frustrated with my 5770 and I can't figure out what was going on with it.

Thanks for the responses. I mean, I can surf the web and stuff, but if I load up a game, crashes almost instantly. If I try to draw a line in CAD, instant crash.

The BSOD, those minilogs I posted, were only with the newer betas.. I tried all the other drivers again last night (YEah, I swept the drivers), and those just result in it exiting the program, waiting a second, then saying "The nvidia driver 1xx.xx stopped responding and has been restarted". But that doesn't create a dump log, so anything else I can post for you guys to check it out?

Also, I'm using rendition ram. I can't find specs for it, but as I said, no hardware issues before win7.

You could check the event logs. Type "event log" in start menu search box, hit enter. Then double click on Windows Logs, then System.
