Connecting windows 7 laptop to a ultrawide monitor- resolution problem

    I conneted a thinkpad t550 windows 7 laptop to this Amazon.com: LG Electronics UM67 34UM67 34-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor: Computers & Accessories

The monitor is in Korean- sadly I don't know how to change it to English

The monitor is recognized but only shows as 1080p in the center of the screen and the slider for resolution won't let me change to an ultrawide setting- only 1080p or lower and none of them ultrawide

The laptop itself has a 1440p screen

Did not have this problem with my windows 8.1 laptop or windows 10. I tried switching to windows 10 from windows 7 and had a bad experience however with other things so I'll be sticking to win7

Hello LA mate what is the highest res you have on that machine? as I see from a search there are several.

I seem to remember I used the control centre/panel for the Intel HD Graphics 5500 which I have on my main laptop Intel® HD Graphics 5500 for 5th Generation Intel® Core? Processors and see this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehoe0pSRhxc

Edit I should have said the laptop I refer to is only 1920x1080 max res

email or better yet call LG, they will gladly help you get it to English and address the resolution issue.

Always contact the manufacture about such issues, we are a humble Windows 7 help site :)

    LG Telephone | LG U.S.A

    LG Chat & Email | LG U.S.A

Personally I would start a chat.

And please fill in your specs.
