    swapping harddrives from pc to laptop.


    Hi
    I Have both a Medion pc and laptop. Installed a new Crucial 250gb ssd in my pc and used acronis image to copy old hard drive. Pc is now terminal and new one been ordered. can I istall the new ssd into my laptop. My pc is 32bit but my laptop is 64bit. both run windows 7 home premium.

    Of course you can install the SSD in the laptop. But you have to transfer the laptop OS to the SSD. See here:

    sorry didn't explain myself very well. My laptop recently had a clean install to my hdd. all my files, software etc is on the ssd in my tower. I dot want to loose all this. The ssd is a full clone of the pc os. will this not just plug and play on my laptop. my knowledge of 32bit and 64 bit is zero.

    I don't think a disk with an alien (from another system) operating system will do well.

    Why don`t you clone from the drive in the laptop to the new ssd ?

    Not enough connections ?
