Multiple problems with video card (BSOD -> nvlddmkm & Resolution prob)

    Hi,

I've got a Laptop, a 'old' one, with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5550
    Motherboard: Packard Bell BV PB3G
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce 8600M GT (Driver 341.95)
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit
    Total Memory: 3 GB

Now I've got a couple of problems. First of all, I occasionally will get a BSOD with nvlddmkm error.
Then when I restart I get a double screen with 2x 800x600. It's getting quite annoying.

Device Manager -> Display adapters: Reporting an error when this happens (Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43).

I tried a couple of things:
    - Clean installing nVidia driver, (including the driver sweeper).
    - CCleaner registry fixing
    - Uninstalling and reinstalling video card drivers

Also, the crashes seem to occur randomly (not while playing game(s), or by doing a certain action).

Sometimes I seem to fix it, then everything works fine for like 2 days, and then it does it again. Sometimes it will even boot with the double screen.

If you need any more info. Please tell me.

Just fixed this by Clean Installing nVidia.

I did this many and many times before, but for some reason (maybe with the back to back combination of CCleaner) it now worked.

Although this is NOT solved. I'm unfortunately quite sure that this going to come back.

Edit (7th april): Found out that the BIOS might be outdated. Packardbell.com doesn't have my model on their website (anymore) though. Any other ways that I can update my BIOS?

    Interesting,
Your lucky that it took the 10 upgrade,
Its not exactly specced up for it.
If all of these problems started when you got w10 suggest you go back to 7

system locale would state a country
