New AMD Graphics Card BSOD and Drivers not Installing

I recently got a mint condition XFX 6950 2GB from ebay. The card looks great but apparently had many software issues. First, I couldn't install any of the AMD drivers without getting the BSOD related to atikmpag.sys. I fixed the problem by doing the whole expand the AMD files and moving them to system32. The next problem I faced is drivers and artifacting. There are white lines running down my screen. Although the BSOD is now gone, the AMD drivers don't load and say that the drivers have improperly been installed on the system. I have installed drivers atleast 6 times and installed all the WHQL versions. I have no idea what to do anymore and any help is appreciated. Also, I have the lated Direct X as well as the latest .net framework. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome joe joe mate I have to say unless you knowthe seller on EBay it is not a terribly good thing to buy off there.

Now we need to see some dumps files and just for the record the dump files you mention - it is usually advised that you remove the Catalyst Control Center and run the GPU on it's own dedicated driver.

    So dump files please

Now as a long time user of Kaspersky I have found it has some idiosyncrasies and I would advise you you to temporarily disable the AV while you sort the driver out to do that go to settings in KISS and turn off Protection - you probably know that anyway but I thought I would mention it see pic

Where are you getting the AMD drivers from? And which version are you using?

    AMD Drivers

So far I have been downloading them from the AMD website. Those did not work and I tried some from guru3d. I have tried 13.9, 14.4, 15.7.1, and 16.2

You're using the version that is made for the 6900 series cards, right? Not the newest latest and greatest drivers. The 6900 series are legacy drivers. That may be why you can't get them to install right, if you are trying the latest drivers.

    Get the drivers from here:

Sorry joe joe for late reply and I cannot open RAR files can you retry using the tutorials?

The AMD site is as usual a convoluted method of find drivers as you can see from this Download Drivers so I am going to suggest you use the automatically detect my driver section as searching manually is going nowhere much . As I mentioned I think in in my first post getting it from EBay mate is never a good idea unless you have bought stuff from a particular source you know and trust.

I thought you had 7-zip installed John?

    Go to tools> Options,

Highlight RAR, then click on the plus sign, apply and be done with it.

    Here's the dump in zip,
