    weird problems when playing paticular games


    ok i have a resolution problem.. i'm running all games in 1680x1050
    but with some games i cant run them on that i have to lower it to 1280x1024 or something.. beacues it does funny colors or gives me sometimes blue screen of death.. or says "out of range error" it dosen't make sense i'm running the latest drivers...
    i have a ati 4850 windows 7 ultimate x64 edition

    system specs:
    motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EX38-DS4
    memory: Mushkin DDR2 4096MB (2048MBx2) 800Mhz CL 5-5-5-18 SP
    graphics card: Club3D ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB PCIe
    Power: Enermax Pro82+ 525W
    processer: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Box
    screen: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Box

    Hey. Too much heat is my guess. See if the same thing happens with a large fan blowing inside the open case, as a test.

    Do you have a link to the exact card you have?

    are you sure too much heat can cause it to display
    "out of range error"
    coz i dont think so..

    i have a radeon ati hd4850 512mb memory

    Out of range error is usually a monitor issue, it would also help if you filled in your specs fully.

    Full system specs would help. Is this a custom built or off-the-shelf computer? Also what is in it for a power supply?

    Sure it can. If the card temporarily fails, the monitor will complain like that. Knowing which exact card it is would probably help determine if heat may be a factor.

    Hey. Have you tried the fan suggestion already as a test? That is a factory overclocked card without a really elegant cooling solution like full card cooling as you would find with many other factory OC cards (like mine.)

    I still think heat may be a factor.
