Help; stuck on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter; cannot update
I've tried about almost every "solution" I could find on the internet and it's just been one problem after another.
I've just recently received this laptop and I went and tried to play The Sims 3 on here, but when I tried and go play it an error popped up stating "Can't run The Sims 3 with the video card in this system" blah blah. So when I finally found the issue and went to try and update the graphic card, it would say the installation was successful and that I just needed to restart my computer. But I restart my laptop and it still shows up as "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" under Device Manager. That happened when I went to install the "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family". I've tried every single method I could find to updating this stupid graphics driver, but I've just been running into one problem after another. I thought I finally found a solution when I went to go and try and install the beta version of "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400", but at the end a window pops up talking about "The driver selected for this device does not support this version of Windows." Every single thing I've tried so far as resulted in nothing but failure. I don't know if it's my laptop that's the problem or what. All I know is I'm about ready to give up at this point.
I'm using a Dell Latitude 3340
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4010U @ 1.70GHz
Hardware IDS:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16&SUBSYS_061F1028&REV_09
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16&SUBSYS_061F1028
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16&CC_0300
If any of that information is useful.
Thank you.
