    Graphics Card Query's

At the moment, Windows Experience Index gives me.

    Processor: 5.9
    Ram: 5.5
    Graphics: 3.4
    Gaming Graphics 3.2 ( Lowest Score )

    Primary HDD: 5.9

I was thinking of buying a new graphics card, like 512MB - 1GB Memory on it, preferably nVidia. I'm currently using nVidia GeForce 7050 / nVidia nForce 620i ( 256MB ), anyway looking to pay like 100 - 150 or maybe more or less off Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!. I'm using a Acer Aspire M1640, so need a compatible one.

I'd go to Acer.com, research that machine until you understand what motherboard it has and what the video interface is for that motherboard. Then go to newegg and find an nvidia card in the 512 to 1 gig range that is designed to fit that interface that is in your price range.

Acer Support - Aspire M1640 Series Specifications

if you are going to get a vid card for gameing, you will need to also get a new psu... 250W won't cut it.

Whats your PSU output. Your specs say "Standard" thats ususally 300 to 350 watts. So be careful that you have enough power from the PSU or you will blow your system out!

You have a PCI-E X16 slot, so you can use the commonest cards. (I doubt that it's PCI-E 2.0, but that probably doesn't matter at the moment.)

If you want nVidia, looks like your main choice will be GTS 250 cards. It requires two 6 pin PCI-E power connectors, though.

The next step up is the GTX 260. (get one of the 216 processor versions, if you can.) It also has two 6 pin PCI-E power connectors.

If you're willing to consider ATI, the 5750 is their lowest-end DX11 card, at the top end of your price range. The 48XX cards are DX 10.1, and may be your best price/performance choices at the moment.

Any of these cards may require that you buy a new PSU. The least expensive good ones that I see at Newegg are from OCZ. For example:

    Newegg.com - OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies

(The good news is that it's $40. The bad, that price includes a $25 rebate.)

yes you will need a new psu... but you could also get a thearmaltake, ultra, pc power & cooling, cosair, or antec psu.... also... the ATI cards would be the best bang for your buck.....
