Stuck with Standard VGA Adapter, cant install Intel HD graphics driver
I recently downgraded to Windows 7 home premium 64bit SP1 on my Acer F15 F5-573G laptop that originally had Windows 10 installed to get rid of a stuttering problem and I prefer Windows 7 over Windows 10.
The drivers I installed like USB and WLAN drivers work perfectly except one thing... I'm stuck with the dreadful Standard VGA Adapter which doesn't let me use Aero, simple programs like solitaire are very laggy because there is no hardware acceleration. In general things aren't as smooth as they should be, when I drag a window around it leaves an ugly trail behind it.
My laptop has 2 graphics cards, I installed the Nvidia Geforce 940MX drivers that did nothing and I believe the card is only used when running 3D applications to save battery.
When I tried to install the Intel HD graphics 520 driver via the installer it comes up with an error saying "This computer does not meet the requirements for installing the software" So I tried installing it manually from the device manager and it says "This driver is not supported for this version of Windows"
Now I know whats going on here, the driver is for Windows 10 and im trying to install it on Windows 7 but I need the Intel graphics to run 2D applications smoothly and have Aero. I've been trying fixes and work arounds to this issue, searching the internet but no luck. It would be great if someone could help me with this issue so I can have a smooth Windows 7 experience with nice looking Aero glass.
Thanks! :)
