How to connect my laptop to my HDTV?

OK, I am not a techy, and need help connecting my Dell laptop to my Samsung HDTV. I have purchased 2 HDMI cables, and one adapter attempt, but nothing fits into the laptop. TV end is fine. Thanks

    Hi,

I looked into your laptop from: DELL Laptop Inspiron N5030 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit-Newegg.com

According to the pictures given from the link, the laptop has Intel GMA4500MHD (Which supports HD playback). Unfortunately, I can't find any HDMI ports on the laptop. It is very weird for a laptop with HD playback support to not have HDMI, the onboard GPU supports it.

There is however, another way to connect your laptop to an HDTV. The laptop has VGA Port, you can see from the picture below:

Your HDTV may or may not have this same port. If it does, you can use a VGA Cable for it like this one in the picture:

Thank you SO much for your help. There is NOT a VGA port on the HDTV, but I have seen adapters that may allow me to make the connections. Again, thank-you, RoasterMen.
