    New GPU ideas

Ok now at present one of my desktops has an AMD Saphirre Radeon HD 5850 and I am not really a fan of AMD stuff as I had no end of problems with AMD stuff when I built the Sandy Bridge and after some advice from a member who is no longer with us I swapped an NVidia card in and I have not had any problems with NVidia since - so I am thinking of upgrading it to one of these
Asus ROG Strix GeForce 1050 Ti OC $269
Asus Expidition GeForce 1050 Ti OC (which I am not sure is the same as the ROG above $238
    Asus Expidition GeForce 1050 Ti OC - 2GB $184
Asus GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Phoenix

Now I am not a gamer but I do like good graphics and as you can see I like Asus gear as I run GTX 650 Ti's in my other two deskies and they are just great. I am not a great authourity on graphics only know that someone said to me before get a card with plenty of memory - the clock speeds do not really mean a lot to me either.
I again as you see looking at something not wildly expensive too but am just confused by all the different titles they have. The second one on that list looks to me to be about what I am inclined to get but any advice would be really appreciated. :)

Thanks Mike I said I don't care about clocks only because really I don't know what they involve in producing graphics all I want is a decent picture on the monitor and I suspect the clocks would have something to do with gaming which I very rarely do - more into colour mixing etc

Thansk mike I have a really nice Asus monitor on that one wel on two of the deskies actually and why I was wanting good quality output from the GPU.

Unfortunately the GPU might have to wait as my DVD player is dying but I think I shall get this one

    Hi,
Looks like all 1050's only have 128 memory bit depth
You'd have to go up to at least the 1070 line to get the better 256 memory bit depth
    Just a fyi :)

Thanks Roaster and Mike I do appreciate the help but I am not sure and will have the Google memory depth because really I have no idea what that means and the 1070 it will depend on prices now too.

    Hi,
Don't bother they are well over twice as much
The 1060 series has 192 memory bit depth
It just means they process faster :)
1060 might still be in your budget.

Thanks Mike but the 1060 is a tad outside the old budget if I was still working and my DVD player was not on the blink then I probably would go with it and I still haven't had time to read up yet on the graphical stuff. I really should because it is a such an important component eh?

But I do appreciate you taking out the time to have a scout around for me and also the others too and what I like about the 7 forum to be honest.
