Problems with display adapter and tunnelling adapter
Having a problem here which started after a Windows update. I'm running a Sony Vaio with Windows 7. Did the update about a week ago and the computer started acting funny and the screen resolution changed from 1600 x 900 to 800 x 600. Okay that was easy enough to change back but it screwed up all my desktop icons which took ages to get back to where they were. Laptop still was having problems and was running really hot, I mean dangerously hot! I went into Device Manager and found three items with exclamation marks, Display Adapter which in my case is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 also a Network Adapter, Microsoft Teredo Tunnelling Adapter and a third item which I can't remember. The third item I sorted by rolling back to the previous driver but that option wasn't available with the other two. I sorted the Display Adapter by restarting the laptop and going into my boot menu and choosing, Disable driver signature enforcement and restarting. It was running fine after that and it was really cool as well. Then I tried to fix the Tunnelling Adapter issue by going into the registry and changing a value in the right window from 28 to 0. That fixed that issue and the exclamation mark had gone. However when I restarted the laptop the display adapter was showing an exclamation mark again! I fixed it again and restarted and it was back to normal but the tunnelling adapter was showing an exclamation mark again. Is there any way to sort this problem? I don't even know what this tunnelling adapter does. Even if I leave that alone, every time I restart the laptop the display adapter is showing an exclamation mark again and I have to restart it every time and choose Disable driver signature enforcement. Any suggestions would be welcome.
