Windows 7 stuck icon in taskbar

Sometimes, when I use Windows 7, the icons in the taskbar are stuck, even when press it, it won't open the window that was clicked. Why is that? Is it graphic issue? I overcome this issue by killing explorer.exe, but it is just quiet tedious, when the icon is stuck every time.

The issue won't happen if I switched Windows 7 Basic theme.

    Hi Muz1234,

Are you running from Administrator account or Guest?
Sounds like your account is corrupt.

Try this, click in searchbox copy and paste find and fix problems with transparency and other effects run troubleshooter.

If that doesn't work, I would recommend creating a new administrator account to use instead to see if it works fine. If so, then you could just copy any user files, shortcuts, and Start Menu shortcuts that you want from the old account into the new one and delete the old account from within the new one.

Yes, create a restore point, or full system image before you mess with Admin account!

    To create new Administrator's Account:

    1. Open Control Panel from the Start menu.
    2. Click on User Accounts.
    3. Click Manage another account.
Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    4. Click Add.
    5. Type the name and domain you want to give the user account and click Next.
    6. Select Administrator and click Finish.
    7. Log in to the new Administrator account and try the taskbar icons you were having problems with.
